I came to geometric abstraction through the investigation and love of materials, the manipulation of these materials and my own passion to express. The exacting nature in which I work reveals an organizing principal that is fundamental to my methodology, one of inherent visual ambiguity through geometry.

I feel closely aligned with the Latin American geometric abstractionists such as Jesus Rafael Soto, Fanny Sanin and Cruz Diez, who also chose to gradually reveal the context of their work by purely visual means and the absence of linguistic codification. My own aim is to engage all the senses through the visual medium of painting.

My themes are a product of my unconscious, are deeply personal, and are often inspired by dreams. Discipline transforms the initial impetus of my work, as I incorporate a variety of materials including steel, wood and aluminum. This result is textured patterns combined with seamlessly painted geometric forms. Each piece presents one object or state of mind, which propagates across a single plane.

My recent work relies on symmetry and the dichotomy of embracing opposites. Each painting has a system of balance that functions to ground the work in the physical world.
